Connect your GMX email to Claude & ChatGPT

GMX keeps IMAP switched off until you flip a toggle: webmail hides a "POP3/IMAP" setting that is disabled by default. Turn it on, and anymailmcp.com brings your GMX inbox and calendar into your assistant.

What you need

Your GMX address

gmx.de, gmx.net, gmx.at and gmx.ch addresses use imap.gmx.net; international gmx.com addresses use imap.gmx.com. We detect the right one from your address.

IMAP enabled in webmail

Log in at gmx.net, click the icon with your initials, open "E-Mail-Einstellungen", then "POP3/IMAP", switch on the "POP3 und IMAP Zugriff erlauben" slider and pass the security check.

Your password, or an app password with 2FA

Your normal GMX password works over IMAP. If two-factor authentication is on, click your initials, then "Account verwalten", "Login & Sicherheit", "App-Passwörter", create a new app password and paste that here instead.

GMX works best with a revocable app password.

The GMX Kalender speaks standard CalDAV at caldav.gmx.net (caldav.gmx.com for gmx.com), so your assistant can read and create events next to your mail. With two-factor authentication on, GMX wants a separate app password for the calendar: create a second one and put it in your profile’s Calendar login (calendar password), or in CalDAV password under Advanced configuration on /connect.
