What are my Yahoo! JAPAN Mail IMAP settings?

IMAP is imap.mail.yahoo.co.jp on port 993 (SSL); SMTP is smtp.mail.yahoo.co.jp on port 465 (SSL). We detect these automatically from your address.

Why did my connection suddenly stop working?

Since late 2025 Yahoo! JAPAN has been resetting the IMAP/POP/SMTPアクセス setting to 許可しない on accounts it flags for security. Change your password, set the toggle back to 許可する, then reconnect with the new password.

Is my ymail.ne.jp address supported?

Yes. ymail.ne.jp is an alternate domain on the same Yahoo!メール account and uses identical servers. One caution: a mailbox untouched for 6 months is suspended and emptied, so keep the connection alive.

Allow IMAP access in Yahoo!メール settings

At mail.yahoo.co.jp open 設定, then メールの設定, then "IMAP/POP/SMTPアクセス". Set access from outside official Yahoo! JAPAN services (Yahoo! JAPAN公式サービス以外からのアクセス) to 許可する and switch IMAP to 利用する.

Your normal password

Yahoo! JAPAN has no app passwords: IMAP takes your regular Yahoo! JAPAN ID password. If you normally sign in without a password (SMS only), set a password first in your account settings.
