What are my Naver Mail IMAP settings?

IMAP is imap.naver.com on port 993 (SSL); SMTP is smtp.naver.com on port 587 with STARTTLS. We detect these automatically from your address.

Why is my Naver password rejected?

Naver made application passwords mandatory for POP3, IMAP and SMTP in 2025; the grace period ended on November 18, 2025. Enable 2-step verification, generate an application password at nid.naver.com, and use it in place of your login password.

Does Naver Calendar work with my assistant?

Usually. Naver exposes CalDAV at caldav.calendar.naver.com and it takes an application password like IMAP does. If Naver refuses the shared credential for calendar, the mail connection is unaffected.

Naver Calendar speaks CalDAV at caldav.calendar.naver.com and authenticates with an application password, the same credential type as mail. Naver does not document sharing one password across services, so if calendar refuses the mail credential, email still works fully.

Enable IMAP in Naver Mail settings

At mail.naver.com open "환경설정", then "POP3/IMAP 설정", pick the "IMAP/SMTP 설정" tab, set it to "사용함" and save.

An application password (애플리케이션 비밀번호)

Turn on 2-step verification (2단계 인증) for your Naver ID at nid.naver.com, then create an application password under 애플리케이션 비밀번호 관리. Paste that here; since November 2025 your normal Naver password is refused over IMAP.
