Why is my correct password rejected?

Almost always the third-party access switch. Enable it in Xfinity webmail under Settings, Security, then connect again.

Do I need an app password for Xfinity?

Turn on third-party access

In Xfinity webmail: Settings, Security, then check "Allow access to my Xfinity Connect email through third-party programs". Without it, every mail app is rejected.

Your comcast.net address and password

The same credentials you use on xfinity.com. No app password needed once the switch is on.
