Our email is managed by an IT company, will this work?

Yes. Most Rackspace Email mailboxes are sold through resellers, but the mailbox itself still speaks IMAP at secure.emailsrvr.com with your normal password.

Is this the same as Rackspace hosted Exchange?

IMAP allowed on your mailbox

Rackspace Email normally has IMAP on, but the domain admin can switch POP and IMAP off in the Rackspace Email Control Panel (Global Access Rights, or the mailbox’s access rights). If a correct password is refused, ask them to check.
