Before you connect
What you need
Turn on POP/IMAP in webmail
For personal aliyun.com mailboxes, open the webmail settings, then POP设置, switch on POP/IMAP代收功能 and save. Until then a correct password is reported as wrong.
Your full address and mail password
Personal mailboxes use your normal mail password, with the full @aliyun.com address as the username.
Enterprise Alimail: a client password
Company mailboxes on the Alimail platform (mxhichina servers) use a separate client password (客户端密码) set in webmail, and new organisations have third-party clients off until an admin allows them. We auto-detect their hosts from your domain.
