Connect your BT Email email to Claude & ChatGPT
BT Email is plain IMAP with your everyday password: no app passwords, no toggles. As long as your account has client access, anymailmcp.com connects your btinternet.com inbox to your assistant.
- IMAP
- mail.btinternet.com:993
- SMTP
- mail.btinternet.com:465
- Encryption
- SSL/TLS
BT Email has no CalDAV interface for outside apps, so this connection covers mail only.
Before you start
What you need
Your BT address
btinternet.com and btopenworld.com addresses work directly. Legacy talk21.com addresses were migrated and now sign in as yourname.t21@btinternet.com with the same password.
Your normal email password
BT has no app passwords and no way to generate one. Your usual BT Email password is exactly what IMAP expects.
An account with client access
BT Broadband customers and paid Premium email subscribers can use email apps. The free Basic accounts given to ex-customers are webmail only and cannot connect over IMAP.
Set it up in your AI
Your BT inbox, inside your assistant
Read and triage your BT mail, draft replies and manage your calendar, straight from the chat you already use. It takes about a minute to connect.
- Open Settings → Connectors in Claude Desktop or claude.ai.
- Click Add custom connector and paste the URL below.
- Click Connect, then sign in with your email (we send you a magic link). You add your mailbox from your profile afterwards.
